Challenge:
Before working with RACERSITES.COM, the Howard Motorsports (HM) web site was maintained in-house. In time, HM discovered that maintaining their site using traditional web site maintenance techniques was neither efficient nor cost effective. To remedy this, RACERSITES.COM proposed the implementation of a custom set of site administration tools that would make site updates faster AND cheaper.

Success:
At RACERSITES.COM, we believe that the power to publish should be in the hands of those that know and own the content. But the primary challenge to that belief is that – in most cases – the individuals that own the content do not have the technical skills necessary to publish that content to a web site. It is for that reason that we developed a user-friendly set of site administration tools (generically referred to as TOOLBOX) that can be used to update most elements of a web site.

In the case of HM, internal personnel were maintaining their site by updating HTML files. As is common, the individuals responsible for updating the site were not full-time web developers – updating the web site was just one of their many daily responsibilities. When new content was added to the site, numerous HTML pages had to be updated. Needless to say, this process was both laborious and error-prone.

RACERSITES.COM worked with HM to create a new site with a design that more closely matches the professionalism of the HM organization and expanded content offerings to keep fans better informed of team activities. The RACERSITES.COM suite of administration tools was installed on the back-end and powers all site content updates. PR personnel with no previous web experience are now updating site content including press releases, news stories, racing schedules, driver bios and photo galleries quicker and easier than ever before.
